Consulting from practice for practice
In this section you will find information on various petroleum and petrochemical products facilitating the systematic classification and differentiation of products.
Mineral oil products and their derivatives are often so-called UVCB substances (Unknown or Variable composition, Complex reaction products or Biological materials) for whose distinction groups of products have been predefined which may show the same class of hazardous substance properties.
Hydrocarbon Solvents
Mineral Oil Distillates (hydrogenated, non-hydrogenated, synthetic)
Methods of production:
- Mineral Oil Distillation (with or without hydration)
- Alkylation
- Oligomerization (isobuten or propen based, GTL)
- Hydrogenation of natural fatty acid(esters) (BiomassToLiquid)
- Synthesis and Cracking (Fischer Tropsch; GTL)
- Fermentation of vegetable products by yeasts and bacteria
Petrochemical Oxigenated Solvents
Alcohols, Esters, Ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones
Process Oils / Base Oils
aromatic, naphthenic, paraffinic, synthetic;
for application in several industrial productions
- plasticizers and extenders in rubber, silicone sealants and PVC
- lubricant production
- release agents
- and many more as
White Oils (pharmaceutical and technical quality)
- in cosmetics, pharmacy, food contact
- plant protection (e.g. spray oils (adjuvants))
Hydrocarbon Waxes
mineral oil based (macro- and micro waxes); syntetic (e.g. GTL wax, alpha olefin waxes, PE/PP-waxes)
